Mythbusters!

August 6, 2008 · No Comments

I have a lot of dream jobs. Rock star. TV writer. Backup singer for Reba. But I’d pay money to be a Mythbuster for a day. They have the coolest job. They build junk and then blow it up. The show makes my inner pyro so happy.

Mythbusters is all new tonight! 9/8c on Discovery

August thoughts

August 6, 2008 · No Comments

Watching more Justice League DVDs has given me a better appreciation for the Green Lantern.

I’m still watching In Plain Sight, but I’m having trouble caring about it. The only characters worth watching are Mary, Marshall, and the cop dude. You know what would be awesome? If her crack head sister had to go into witsec, then Mary would have a great character moment and we could get rid of her boring sister.

Oh Psych

August 2, 2008 · No Comments

As much as I adore your pineapple flavored hilarity, I have to slap you with a giant

BPP!!!

I hate blatant product placement. You know, the kind that interrupts the narrative. A two minute conversation about a donut sign? Seriously? You didn’t even try to HIDE it.

You may redeem yourself to me with more Shawn and Juliet time.

Summer Thursday

August 1, 2008 · No Comments

Mmmm Jeff. Won’t lie. I think I’m in love.

Okay I’m stoked about the final five on Last Comic Standing. I think they are the funniest. My vote is torn between Jeff and Iliza. While I laughed the hardest at Iliza tonight….let’s face it, I’m in love with Jeff.

My Boys. Okay. Kenny and Stephanie’s hatred was one of my favorite parts of the show. And they kinda telegraphed what would happen. But my hope is that this just spurns their hatred even more.

Yay Chuck!

July 31, 2008 · No Comments

Gotta be honest. The ONE show I’m most excited about returning in the fall is Chuck. It’s funny, it’s action packed and it has just enough romance to fill your inner squee.

GMMR brought back some awesome Chuck news from Comic Con, including a six-minute bootlegged preview….

NBC.com posted a ton of behind the scenes videos and the panel interview from Comic Con. Seriously, thank you NBC for making all of your shows’ panels available, because I’m looking forward to watching the one on The Office.

Oh PJ, we’re twins

July 31, 2008 · No Comments

Example # 14293 that I am PJ. She paces around awkwardly while talking to a boy she likes on the phone. Yup. Now if I could just find the secret to her hot, rich boyfriend pattern…

Meanwhile, My Boys gets funnier each week. Andy talking about wanting to smack the therapist cracked me up as well as Brendo’s girlie behavior.  Dear TBS, who do I have to beg to visit that set. I have a feeling Betsy Thomas and I could find something to talk about.

Unrelated to this, I noticed that in my absence and bad blogger avoidance, that my stats actually went up. This should probably tell me something..though I’m not sure what.

Movie review: The Dark Knight

July 30, 2008 · 1 Comment

Weeks later, I finally got to see the movie of the year. And movie of the year it truly is. Not only do they put the darkness back in Gotham, but it’s well written, well acted and some seriously sweet stunts. Ledger really did steal the show and I’ll readily admit I laugh at dark humor. The intensity grips you through the whole thing. It really does feel like the whole city is at stake and the odds are not good.

And I love Michael Cain as Alfred.

Score another point for Batman above all the other superhero movies of the last ten years.

Hmm how does one spell the tivo noise? I dunno but it’s a happy sound! I think I should bust my Bill Haverchuck back out because my TV, the wireless internet, my cable, the Tivo, the dvd player AND the Wii are ALL WORKING NOW!

WHOOP!

Now, to find a rerun of a few cable shows I missed this week like Burn Notice and My Boys

Link Round up

July 24, 2008 · 3 Comments

Aaaand now the DVD player and the TV aren’t talking. I’ll be glad when my tech support needs are over.

But this gives me a chance to catch up on all the TV news I’ve been missing and other random TV thoughts I meant to blog.

  • I don’t even care if Stella turns out to be the mother or not, I’m just SUPER STOKED she’s going to be on several episodes of HIMYM. E! Source
  • Since we couldn’t get Lauren Graham on the Office Not a Spin Off and she still has that holding deal with NBC, can we get her a round of stunt casting through the NBC shows? Like can you imagine adding her funny to the hysterical cast of Chuck??? LG needs to be BACK on tv in a comedy.
  • WHOA buddy, I just thought I was stoked for Caprica, but the trailer gets me just giddy with geek bumps.
  • I’m not excited about any of the pilots I can read about, with the exception of Caprica. But you wanna send me screeners……my mind could be swayed.

Almost there

July 23, 2008 · 1 Comment

The internet works, the Tivo works, the TV is massive…why am I still behind in TV? My cable is on but not plugged in. The jack and the TV are miles away and the roommate’s boyfriend is in charge of all that. I suppose I could fix it myself, but that would eliminate a reason to keep him around. I kid, he’s a good dude.

I did watch last Friday’s Psych. This show is so cute with randomly touching moments like Shawn almost crying in front of his mom. Yet Monk gets all the Emmy nods? Ugh. Speaking of, I didn’t post my OUTRAGE over Friday Night Lights, specifically Coach & Tami Taylor, and Battlestar Galactica for series EMMY SNUBS. Are you kidding me with this Boston Legal garbage? Forget the Emmys. Dear SAG Award voters, aka actors. SHOW THE LOVE for two of best written and acted series on TV and shower them with statues.

On the DVD front, I’m still watching Justice League, though the later seasons (when it’s dubbed JL Unlimited) are a better balance of drama to comedy. I also watched all three hours of the Batman: Gotham Knight extras which are EXCELLENT. There’s a bio on Bob Kane and four bonus epsidoes of the Animated Series. OH and my netflix queue is already waiting…but Robin Hood season 2 FINALLY hits the States in August. Mmmm Jonas Armstrong.
